It all began about the year 1983. Tom Shaw used his Draft horse team from the ranch to start skidding logs for Firewood and poles. Tom purchased his first Sawmill in 1985, a circular saw with a 52″ blade, and was horse logging. This soon grew to a much larger commercial logging operation, which included, A Fleet of Log Trucks, Log Skidders, Two Tower Yarder’ s, Mechanized Harvest equipment and Railroad shipping of Logs. Due to a reduction in available Timber to harvest, …Crooked Creek Timber scaled back to local markets in southern Colorado, offering quality Timber /Lumber products to area Ranchers, Farmers, Home Builders and Homeowners. Crooked Creek Timber now harvests Timber from lands being managed for Fire Mitigation, Wildlife habitat and Disease control. Now, a much smaller operation, serving local communities, with Friendly, Personal and Quality service from the Ranch.
